EGSCF Integrative Health Care Services

A real estate student at New York University, Alec Wasser previously studied business management at Marymount Manhattan College and economics at Bucknell University. Alec Wasser is also a community volunteer who has spent his free time working with charities and nonprofit groups such as Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families (EGSCF) in New York City.

Founded more than 75 years ago by benefactor Edwin Gould, EGSCF has grown into one of the most prominent and effective social services organizations in New York City. The nonprofit group maintains a wide range of programs, including vocational training, criminal justice assistance and training, and anti-domestic violence initiatives. Additionally, EGSCF offers a suite of integrative health services across Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan.

Guided by a team of registered nurses, psychiatrists, and other health professionals, the integrative health services program provides community-based services and assessments that ensure its target population stays healthy and maintains access to necessary medical services. In addition to medical screenings, annual examinations, and preventive care, the program includes mental health services that include evaluations and referrals.

All participants in the integrative health program are assigned a care manager who ensures the patient receives all the care he or she needs by coordinating with providers, health care plans, and Medicaid services, when appropriate.
